It was in front of my lawn and I when inside for about 2 hours. When I came back it was gone. I just bought a little weed eating lawn mower for about $40, it runs well but the owner admitted that he made it from a few lawn mowers. I reported it to the police and have a report number. Open Question: How do I re-install the control bar on my Murray lawn mower?

The problem isn't getting the bar on the mower, it's how do I set up the little gadget on the side of it (I don't know what it is called). It basically holds the small cable on the side that, when pulled up, allowing the engine to be cut on. Any ideas? It looks simple, but when I try to put it on, it doesn't work. more

Open Question: What's the best lawn mower to use? A hover mower or a wheel mower?

I had a hover mower for many years and I never had any trouble with it. Even if the grass was quite high it always did the job for me. Unfortunately the starting handle broke and I had to buy a new mower. I decided to buy a wheel mower but it doesn't seem to work half as well as the hover. The grass is continually getting stuck in the blades causing the mower to stop working which means that every minute I have to stop and pull the grass from the blades. Does anybody know how I can stop this from happening. Do you think hover mowers are better? Thank you for answering.Chris: I hadn't thought of that. Good idea. more

ok my mom pulled up in front our house and she forgot something so she honked the horn in our drive way to get my sister to run it out to her. keep in mind she honked once. the dude across the street yelled out the window Can you not honk your horn my kids are trying to sleep. we said ok. you know no biggie. so i watch my other sisters kids and today she was coming to pick them up she pulled in the drive way honked once so the kids can come out. He yells again and says why are we so rude and cant we be reasonable. and he was going to call the cops. well i don't see any harm in honking your horn i can understand if it's excessively but it wasn't and We don't complain when he's got his big loud lawn mower out cutting the grass early in the morning while my baby niece is sleeping. Any ways we are siting in the breeze room and we hear a voice like i can hear you in there. So my mom and i go out to the front door and it's the cops saying he has a complaint and we can get a ticket. plus the dude lies and says we threw trash across the on his side. omg this is pissing me off just because his kids are sleep at freaking four in the afternoon. I don't believe this is wrong. Give me your insights on this people.actually it was once there is no damn law saying you cant honk your horn once. I am in the market and going to make an offer on a 2003 double-wide trailer tomorrow so i need some good prices. The seller is asking 59,900 for it. It comes with: washer, dryer, fridge, oven, microwave, kitchen table/4 charis, and lawn mower. It is in a park on a large corner lot where the lot rent is 400 a month including water and sewage. I can't afford the asking price but the realtor says she needs to sell cause she already has another place and is now paying for two homes at once. What should i put for an offer? Open Question: Hello, I have a snapper lawn mower that i borrowed from my fater in law. The model number is 30085S?

serial num is 63102397. Could someone please tell me what these numbers mean? Also I downloaded the manual all 108 pages but i am looking to figure out what a part is. This is what happened . I was mowing just fine on this old mower and i was told DO NOT TAKE YOUR FOOT OF THIS BAR!!! which app holds the blades down so they will run. So then i was going across gravel and did not want to tear it up so I let go of that bar ooops! well then after that I tried to by the directions get it back to wear it would cut and it wouldn't it would hold into place but it was not cutting the grass. Then i turned it off and looked under it and i found a metal ring that is bent all up and broken under there which i am assuming must help to hold blades or at least help to turn them. I wish i could post a picture of it but i cant on yahoo. Any idea what this might be? please help me It is about 4 1/2 inches in diameter and it has a hole cut out of the center. but it is all bent and cracked i guess from the blades. more

Ok help me out here...does the battery HAVE to be charged for this to start? I mean shouldn't you just be able to pull start it anyways? Lawn mowers don't have batteries..what's the difference?it does have a battery, but its just not fully charged yet. however, i thought I should still bea ble to start the gokart without a fully charged battery. i had a 4 wheeler once that you could pull start even if battery was dead. more

Resolved Question: Getting to the blades on riding mower - Help?

I am new to owning a riding mower and not the "most" mechanically inclined person so please bear with me on this question - I have an MTD riding mower (front engine, 14.5hp) - on the deck it says "triple cut" but all I can really see is 2 circular areas for blades under the deck (not positive if it has 2 or 3 blades) I bought the tractor used so no owners guide or anything. It is about a 2001 model I believe, in very good shape. My question - how do I get to the blades to remove for sharpening? The tractor of course is very heavy and I don't think I could tilt it on its rear end - the deck having atleast the 2 blades under it is pretty wide and sticks out far on each side, so I don't see how I could tilt it sideways either as it would be pivoting all the tractor weight on the deck metal. Is the some trick to getting access under these types of lawn tractors? Maybe putting it up on ramps or something? Also is that the way to sharpen the blades - to remove them first ? more

I have had this tenant for 3 years and she called me to tell me how hot it was there at her unit,so I called an A/C repair man and found out there is a kink at the freon line & he said he thinks it was done by a lawn mower or a weed eater. My tenant mows the grass. This is going to cost me $250 to repair. Shouldn't she be responsible for the repair on this.? The A/C man also found that all the A/C vents in her unit were closed. Resolved Question: Why does my mower sound too powerful?

I have a briggs and stratton i/c gold 14.5 hp engine on my 16 year old lawn tractor. I recently replaced the head gasket along with adjusting the valves. When I started it up i noticed that it sounded like my idle speed was too high. I then adjusted the idle speed screw and it sounded better than it did before, but it was still too powerful. I then messed with the governor but no change came from that. Now, I have the idle speed screw set as low as possible and can't further adjust it. I then went to the Mower Shop and asked them about. I was told that i either have too small of a gap between the valves. I adjusted the valves to where they said and started it up. It still sounded too powerful. I was baffled by it's non changing condition. Is there anything else i can do to fix my mower? more

Voting Question: Newer lawn mower won't start, some help please?

I have a 5.5 HP Poulan Pro, have used it about 5 times this spring and had no problems. The last time I mowed the lawn I had some problems starting. I primed the gas a couple more times than whats recommended. Today however, it wont start. It will only try to start (for about a second) if I prime it. A puff of smoke comes out and it dies. If I do not prime at all, nothing happens, the motor wont even try to start. Whats wrong here? The gas is fresh and the oil is not overfilled. The foam air filter had alot of oil residue on it. I cleaned that up and tried, but no luck. I also tried to start the mower with no air filter at all, no luck. more

Somethings wrong with my lawn mower. Sometimes it starts up but then it immediately dies. There is gas and oil in it, and i changed out the spark plug. I did leave it out in the rain before but it still worked fine and i dont leave it out anymore. I was mowing my grass yesterday and then a flock of birds that looked like (http://blog.glennf.com/images/mt/robin_for_web.jpg) came and started flying around. At first I was okay but then I got paranoid that they were going to hit me or get hit by the mower. I got hit by the birds 3 times last night. Why are they flying around?
